Shooting on an industrial scale, doesn't sit easily within my own beliefs, but small scale syndicate and rough shooting, done so in order to provide meat for the table, is perfectly acceptable from where I am. <br />This flight pond adventure is a direct result of a conversation with a couple of shooters who I occasionally encounter when I'm out on The Ash Levels. I knew of the pool, but have never spent any time there - so it will be a very steep learning experience. I have permission to fish it for a period of six weeks, maximum! It will be fun trying somewhere completely new - I still don't know, for sure, that there are even any fish in there - my information is very much second hand! The thing is, that I am able to go there, with the blessing of the landowner because as an angler/birder I have never expressed an opinion on the right and wrong way of running a farm or shoot. I am not seen as the enemy, unlike the vast majority of binocular wielding twitchers who are prepared to jump on every anti bandwagon flagged up by "Birdguides" or the RSPB.Dylan Wrathallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01285181139467170047noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7338589224051075532.post-36415259696221102442016-01-21T10:10:30.654+00:002016-01-21T10:10:30.654+00:00Good for you Dyl. and nice to see the flight pond ...Good for you Dyl. and nice to see the flight pond having an extra use after the shooting season. Too many antis are blinkered to the other options that shooting habitat provides throughout a year.Derek Faulknerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05140363868104172311noreply@blogger.com
